After a slow patch of new releases, we have just completed some important items that set up an exciting new release.
In this latest release we have done the following:
- Fixed a bug where you could invite yourself to a tweeterview (doh!)
- fixed a bug where users could add an additional @ infront of usernames resulting in an error
- Added ability to insert URLs into tweeterviews, during the interview
- Added bit.ly shortening to embedded urls
- Google translate quick buttons added to published tweeterviews
The bug fixes speak for themselves.
The Embedded URls mean a lot when you are trying to share links during a tweeterview and will lead onto some exciting new features in our later versions, due out this year. Shortening them just means it takes up less space like any good twitter application should do, to retain your character count.
The google translate feature is a simple method to allow us all to read some of the multi language tweeterviews occurring every week.
So what else is coming?
In our next release (April 2011):
- New home page. Which introduces a better way to use the site.
Since the site / app began users have created their own ways to use it. What we find is many of the tweeterviews occur within a short time frame of both parties doing the interview. So the current home page which works on a model of setting them up some time in advance, doesn’t offer the discovery we inteded.
Additionally a lot of users read tweeterviews post event, which also means we needed a better method of discovery. We also wanted to reward those users conducting lots of tweeterviews, so there is a top tweeterviewers leader board, as well as some other new things.
Release 2: (Late April or early May 2011)
Bringing back email addresses as mandatory at sign up so that users can retrieve access information. Given the account doesn’t use standard twitter info until after you login and oauth, many users are needing help to get access after a break from using the app.
This will help as it will enable us to turn back on the forgot password function.
Anyway if you have any feedback we would love to hear it. There are a number of other new features in this years road map, but it’s you that we want to help, so if you can let us know what would make tweeterview better for you then we will review for inclusion.
